A popular game show host has sent a birthday message to a Kiwi woman, who is celebrating a remarkable 108th birthday.
It is the fifth year in a row that The Chase star Bradley Walsh has sent a video birthday message to Ashburton woman Doris Wakelin.
In a video posted to TikTok by the Ashburton Guardian on Friday, Walsh, who lives in England, wished Wakelin a happy birthday.
“It’s just amazing - 108! I think it’s great - happy birthday, Doris!”
“I’ve got to get to New Zealand and see you,” said Walsh.
Receiving a personal happy birthday from a celebrity once is an exciting experience, but this wasn’t the first time Walsh has reached out to her.
For the past five years, Walsh has sent a personalised happy birthday message to the self-professed “Bradley groupie”.
“This is becoming a regular occurrence - I absolutely love it,” Walsh said in this year’s video.
The mother-of-seven may be the gameshow host’s biggest fan.
She previously told 1News she watched the show twice a day without fail.
Walsh, who is also known for his roles on Coronation Street, Law and Order: UK and Doctor Who, mentioned that NZ was on his “bucket list” in a video to Wakelin on her 105th birthday.
“I hope one day we meet. I really do ... always remember, girl, The Chase is on,” Walsh said at the time.
