Quentin Tarantino's reported Pulp Fiction cast wishlist has been leaked online.

Papers posted to Reddit reveal John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Bruce Willis may not have been the director's first picks for the infamous cult hit. 

It seems Tarantino tipped Michael Madsen as his preferred Vincent Vega, with Travolta labelled a "strong, strong, second choice".

Uma Thurman wasn't originally considered as an option for her infamous character Mia Wallace, which saw her receive a nomination nod for best supporting actress at the Oscars and solidified her as one of Tarantino's favourite actresses to cast. 

Bruce Willis was also an absent option from the list, with names like Johnny Depp and Nicolas Cage thrown around as options for the role of Butch. 

The documents also reveal Tarantino considered Eddie Murphy as an option for the role of Jules Winnfield. 

The 1994 release, produced on a budget of US$8.5 million, was nominated for seven Oscars and grossed US$213 million worldwide.
