The World of Wearable Art is attracting more than just a crowd.
It's received more international media coverage this year, than ever before.
Artistic director, Malia Johnston, says word of the event is out in Asia, the US and the UK - a WoW photo even winning The Guardian newspaper's photo of the day competition.
She says the number of overseas entrants has also grown to 50 percent.
"So it's the work that we've been doing, making connections with international designers and I guess just over time the interest has developed and the media are travelling here to take a great shot."
WoW runs through to October 12.
