A UK actor found out he had recovered from Covid-19 during a radio show.
Doctors gave the news to Adam Bond during a Newstalk ZB interview with Petra Bagust aired on Good Friday.
The negative test result was a relief for the 38-year-old who had been in a Kuala Lumpur hospital for three weeks since being diagnosed with Covid-19, four days after arriving in Malaysia.
The actor and theatre director, whose film credits include minor roles in Legally Blonde and The Dark Knight, is believed to have contracted the virus while travelling from London to film a new comedy series. Production has since been put on hold.
While Bond had been asymptomatic, he had been tested as a precaution and was tested positive. He was quarantined for 21 days and during that time had 11 positive Covid-19 test results.
The actor was interrupted during the interview with Bagust by doctors telling him his test results were negative.
“I have a lot of phone calls to make. I am so glad it happened on the air,” he told Bagust.
“I still have to go into self-isolation for two weeks which is really heartbreaking as I really want to go home.”
Bagust had been interviewing Bond about his role as Jesus in television series Good Omens and CNN’s series Finding Jesus.
Bond is infamous for being “TV’s Jesus” having performed as Jesus Christ six times in a variety of television and film roles.
