A tramper stung by wasps needed airlifing to hospital this afternoon - because of a serious allergic reaction.
The Rotorua-based BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was sent to Whirinaki Forest near Minginui in the bay Of Plenty at 1pm today.
A 67-year-old woman was airlifted to Rotorua Hospital for further treatment.
About an hour later, the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was sent to a trail bike event near Ruawaro, west of Huntly.
A 14-year-old Waiuku girl had fallen from her motorbike and broken her right leg.
She was airlifted - along with her father - to Auckland's Middlemore Hospital for further treatment.
