A truck crash north of Rakaia has blocked State Highway One in both directions.
One truck lost control just on a rail overbridge, just after 2pm.
Three fire crews, police and ambulance are in attendance.
Police say the road's expected to be blocked for some time and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
