UPDATED 6.43pm: Police are pleased to confirm that 10-year-old boy, Te Rongopai Hawkins-Nepia has been found. 

"Police would like to thank eveyone who helped to ensure Te Rongopai was returned to his family safe and sound," they said in a media release.  

Te Rongopai Hawkins-Nepia is tall for his age, but has the mental age of five.

He has made off on his sister's scoter, wearing a black and purple Te Waka Unua School uniform.

Te Rongopai has blond and pink hair worn in a large Mohawk.
