A man's been charged over a car crash in Kumeu in April that killed a 40 year old woman and left several others injured.

Alofaifo Afaese died in the crash on the evening of April 17, on State Highway 16.

A 59-year-old man has now been charged with dangerous driving causing death, and four counts of dangerous driving causing injury.

He'll appear in the Waitakere District Court at the end of the month.
