UPDATED 9.53pm Fifteen fire crews are attending a large fire at a two-storey commercial building in West Auckland.

60 firefighters are at the scene tackling the fire spreading through the roof of the 400 square metre building.

Firefighters have the blaze under control.

A specialist fire investigator is heading to the scene. 

A fire service spokesperson says they were called out to the blaze just before nine tonight.

The Glendene building on Akatea Road is used as a concrete cutters and drillers.

Police were called to assist fire crews at 9.05pm
