A diver has died at a Taranaki Beach.
Emergency services received a report about 4:25pm that a diver was unconscious on the shoreline at the beach near Puketapu Road in Pihama.
Police believe the man was shore diving in the area with another man when he got into trouble.
The second man is uninjured and Police are ensuring he is supported.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
