Early childhood teachers are confident parents won't even notice changes that kick into gear today.
Primary-qualified teachers are now allowed to be the "person responsible" in early childhood centres, instead of just early-childhood-educators.
There has to be one "person responsible" for every 50 children, in charge of overseeing children's day-to-day education, care, health and safety.
But Early Childhood Council CEO Peter Reynolds told Tim Dower all teachers cover this as a team and it's really a redundant role.
He says it will relieve some of the rostering pressure on short-staffed childcare centres, but it's a short term solution.
