A government injection of $2.5 million to support kids with high learning needs is being described as a 'great start' by the Principals' Federation.
It'll see an extra 1500 students get another hour a day with a teacher aide.
Principals' Federation President Denise Torrey says it will chip the surface of what has become a seriously problematic area of schooling.
She says they would really like to talk more with the Minister and the disability sector about the issues around special education.
"This 800,000 hours is going to go some way to helping address those issues, but there are more complexities there that we'd like to be able to discuss with both those areas."
