There's been mixed reaction among schools to the governments controversial Investing in Educational Success policy.

Secondary schools have chosen to go ahead with the governmentâ s controversial Investing in Educational Success policy, but the union for primary school teachers has rejected it.

The NZEI says 93% of teachers and principals voted 'no confidence' in the plan.

President Judith Nowotarski says when asked whether they want to try to reshape the policy or start again, 73% voted to reject it outright.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Hekia Parata says the Ministry has reached agreements with the organisations that represent the principals of the 339 secondary schools in New Zealand.

She says they've signed memoranda of understanding with the Ministry, which will allow the secondary principals collective agreement to be altered.

the largest secondary teachers' union isn't yet fully on board.
