WATCH: Large blaze at Hokitika high school
The Hokitika community has banded together to make sure pupils at Westland High School don't miss anymore class time following last week's destructive fire.
It's likely to be another two weeks before any of the school buildings are usable, so they'll be using rooms from other schools, scout halls and churches to conduct lessons.
Principal Trevor Jones said he's incredibly grateful for the way people have helped out, and opened their doors to students.
Jones said they now have more offers of facilities than they actually need.
He said parents of his pupil's have even been cooking him meals and leaving them on his doorstep.
