Lincoln University has jumped 70 places in the latest QS World University Rankings.
The jump puts the varsity in the 411-420 bracket, the top 14 percent of universities ranked.
University Acting Vice-Chancellor Sheelagh Matear says the big win for the university has been the "Academic Reputation" category.
She says that's perhaps recognition of recent initiatives such as qualifications reform and work positioning Lincoln as New Zealand's specialist land-based university.
