240 days, almost 11 thousand kilometres and apparently 4.81 million-wheel revolutions.
That’s what it takes to circumnavigate New Zealand on a bike, a feat that Dunc Wilson achieved in August 2015 - making him the first person to ever travel right around the coast of New Zealand on a bicycle.
His only rule on his cycling adventure: cycle the closest available route to the coastline.
Dunc has documented his journey in a book – The Big Loop: Biking Coastal New Zealand. He talks to Andrew Dickens about the journey.
