The death of a Waimate man over the weekend is not suspicious.

Emergency services were called to a Belt Street address at 7.30 Saturday evening, where they found the body.

Canterbury Police say he was Michael James Parker.

A post-mortem and scene examination were completed yesterday and his death will be referred to the coroner.

It was one of two unexplained deaths in Canterbury on Saturday, with a woman, Hollie Kereru, found dead on the grounds of a Methven property early on Saturday morning.
