A good result for police hot on the tail of thieves causing havoc for tourists in Auckland.
Four German visitors had their rental van broken into at the summit of Mount Eden around lunchtime today. The thieves made off with their bags, passports and electronics.
Not long after an Australian woman had her car broken into nearby and her handbag was stolen.
The woman tracked her stolen phone and police got more than they bargained for when they arrived at the location the phone was signalling.
They found another vehicle which had been stolen earlier. Inside were the German tourist's belongings.
What's more another campervan which had been broken into was parked in front of the stolen vehicle.
