Police are thanking the public for their support, following an arrest over the homicide of Cunxiu Tian.
A 19-year-old man was arrested last night in connection with the 69-year-old's death almost a week ago.
He'll appear in Waitakere District Court this morning on one charge of murder and two charges of sexual violation.
Detective Senior Sergeant Roger Small said Police are grateful for the assistance provided by members of the public over the past six days.
He said the arrest will bring some relief to the Te Atatu community, who held a vigil for Ms Tian on Tuesday night.
Police won't release further information about the arrest, as they don't want to prejudice the court process.
