Auckland Police say they don't know if a fatal attack on a runner in Remuera was an isolated incident.

A 24-year-old man will appear in Auckland District Court this morning charged with murdering the woman yesterday morning.

He's accused of attacking her while she was out on a mid-morning run on Shore Rd in Remuera.

Residents of a property on Shore Rd in Remuera found the woman's body on their lawn.

Detective Inspector Kevin Hooper said Police are trying to work out whether any other women were targeted in similar incidents.

"People are tasked to look into exactly that, to see whether there are any other incidents that may or may not be linked."

Support is being provided to the residents of the Auckland property where the woman's body was discovered yesterday morning.

Detective Inspector Kevin Hooper said residents of the property have been helping Police.

"The residents have been offered victim support, they have provided the police with what they know and they are extremely distressed."

Next of kin are being notified and a post mortem was carried out on the woman's body overnight.
