A male victims support group is relieved after news a former Catholic brother - accused of 252 sexual abuse charges - will be extradited to Australia.

The High Court's ordered Bernard McGrath be surrendered to Australian authorities - after his failed bid to stay in New Zealand.

The 66-year-old had challenged former Justice Minister Judith Collins, arguing she held an apparent bias, breached principals of natural justice, and made material errors of law.

Ken Clearwater from Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse says this decision gives some closure.

"There's hundreds of victims and it's a huge relief for them because it's stressed them thinking he was going to get away with it," he says.
