UPDATED 4.59PM:Â A senior crime officer has described smudged blood stains found on a window at the Lundy home after a double homicide was committed.
Mark Lundy's on re-trial in the High Court in Wellington, for the murders of his wife and daughter.
Witness Ross Peat says he couldn't find fingerprints on a window at the home that police say had signs of a forced entry.
"There was a red staining which subsequently I believe was identified as blood which was visible on the frame which was right by where the broken window latch was."
Peat says the blood had the appearance of being wiped with a glove, or cloth.
He says after the murders - he checked nearby homes to see if there were fingerprints on windows, or stomp marks in the grass outside "ust in case there was someone peeping and peering or some other sinister act in that area."
Detective Sergeant Rochelle Ross also took the stand at the re-trial.
She says a replica of Christine Lundy's jewellery box was never found - nor a trace of the jewellery that was in it, despite an extensive search.
"I again published the photographs that we did have from the valuations nationally with the media throughout the police network."
Rochelle Ross also spent two days reading documents in the Lundy's office, to work out what their financial situation was like.
She says she was looking through documents for anything that might reveal a motive, and was looking for evidence of the Lundy's financial situation at the time.
"Different types of financial information, different bank accounts, different business dealings that the couple had, a couple of companies."
Defence lawyer David Hislop has been questioning Detective Senior Sergeant Nigel Hughes.
Mr Hislop says in a photo taken by a crime scene photographer, there is no sign of stepping plates being used to protect the scene.
Nigel Hughes has conceded that as he didn't get to the house until around 4pm on the day of the murders - he's not sure who went in and out of the house.
But he says he's confident stepping plates were used throughout the house in the first days after the murders.
