Police are in attendance at a sudden death in a West Auckland supermarket carpark this afternoon.

The death, in the Countdown supermarket carpark on Te Atatu Rd, was reported to police at around 11.15am today.

A police spokesperson said the circumstances of the death are currently unexplained and further enquiries are required.

“Given the public nature of the death, a scene guard is currently in place, and we ask the public to avoid the area where possible.

“At this stage no further information is available.”
