A mother who tried to protect her murderer son from going to jail is facing deportation.
British man Elliot Turner strangled Aucklander Emily Longley to death in 2011.
His mother Anita, and father Leigh, were both jailed for two years for perverting the course of justice, after destroying their son's confession letter and taking evidence from the murder scene.
They were released from prison in September 2013, having served half of their sentence.
Overnight, Indonesian-born Anita was facing an immigration hearing held by the Home Office, to find out whether she will be deported from the UK.
