The man accused of killing a mother-of-two almost three years ago has pleaded guilty to her murder.

Zane Paora Wallace appeared in High Court at Whanganui before Justice Andru Isac on Monday.

Wallace was charged with the murder of Jasmine Tamara Wilson, 30 in 2019.

As the trial was set to get underway Wallace plead guilty to Wilson's murder.

The 30-year-old was left critically injured and unconscious at Whanganui Hospital's Emergency Department on July 31, 2019. She had suffered serious head injuries and was later transferred to Wellington Hospital, where she died on August 2, 2019.

The public gallary was full with friends and family of Wilson in the front row and Wallace in the back of the seating.

Wallace was remanded in custody to reappear for sentencing on September 16.
