A homicide investigation has been launched after a man was killed in a stabbing in Auckland’s Mt Wellington today.
The man attended a medicalcentrein Lunn Ave with stab wounds at 12.15pm and was taken directly to Auckland City Hospital where he later died.
“We have established the victim got into an altercation with occupants of hatchbackvehicleon Harris Road in Mt Wellington earlier this afternoon,” Auckland City CIB Detective Inspector Scott Beard said.
The vehicle believed to be involved in the incident was later found on Laud Ave in Ellerslie.
Police are continuing scene investigations at both locations, including interviewing nearby residents.
“Mt Wellington residents will continue to see an increased Police presence across the area over the coming days in response to what has occurred,” Detective Beard said.
Police are appealing to anyone whowitnessedthe incident to contact them urgently either online, or by calling 105 and using the reference number 251205/6107.
