The Hastings District Council will be sentenced today over the killing of a four year old boy by one of its lawn-mowers.
The council admitted fault over the death of Uetaha Ransfield-Wanoa in Hastings, who was run over by a council employee at Kirkpatrick Park in October 2013.
The Hastings District Council initially pleaded not guilty to breaching the Health and Safety Act - a charge laid by WorkSafe New Zealand.
In February it was announced the council changed its plea and now admits responsibility.
The driver, 73-year-old Ross Pollock pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death and is on six months home detention.
