Five teenagers have been arrested as part of an investigation into allegations of sexual offending involving Opotiki School.

The 17 and 18 year olds are charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a young person under 16.

They will appear in the Opotiki District Court on Thursday.

Police say that while the men have links to Opotiki College, nothing suggests the alleged offending occurred at the school, or that any school staff were involved.

The investigation is still ongoing.
