Newly released documents reveal disgraced ex-lawyer Davina Murray had been reprimanded for her conduct three times in five years, before being struck off in February.
Murray was convicted in 2013 for smuggling an iPhone, lighter and cigarettes to prisoner Liam Reid - a convicted killer with whom she was in a relationship.
The Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal struck her off earlier this year, and has now released its reserved reasons for the decision.
It says Murray has "little or no understanding of her ethical obligations to clients, her profession or the institutions of justice".
