The saying that anything in Northland not nailed down is likely to be stolen, will have to be updated following the theft of an entire bus shelter.
NZME. reports the steel shelter was bolted to a concrete pad at the corner of Waimate North and Te Ahu Ahu Roads, near Kerikeri.
It vanished on December 6 forcing children to wait for their school bus in the rain..
Police say they know who could have taken it.
The night it went missing, Kaikohe police stopped a car towing a trailer with the missing bus shelter.
At that stage it hadn't been reported stolen - however police took the details of the vehicle and are now following that up.
