Details of a police shooting in Christchurch early on Saturday morning have been suppressed by a court.
A man who was allegedly shot in the incident has appeared from custody at Christchurch District Court this afternoon.
Police asked for suppression orders to cover the man's name and all facts from the case.
The court has agreed to a blanket suppression, preventing all details from the incident from being reported for a week.
The man has been charged with unlawful possession of a pistol and of using it against a police officer in the course of his duty.
He's been remanded in custody until February 13, and police are continuing to investigate.
