An experienced team of detectives is looking into the homicide of a five-year-old autistic boy in Christchurch.
Leon Jayet-Cole died in hospital on Thursday night after suffering serious head injuries on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say they are focusing on Leon’s activities throughout the day on Wednesday.
They've spoken to members of his family and staff from his school, and a post mortem was carried out yesterday.
Police say members of the 14-strong investigative team led by Canterbury CIB has many years experience investigating a range of homicides and serious assaults.
