Christchurch's pink-haired public menace has been jailed for 10 weeks.

Appearing in the Christchurch District Court via video link, a reserved Margaret Dodds pleaded guilty to trespassing after she breached her release conditions and trespass notices by entering Barrington Mall.

Her counsel told the Court his client had been banned from virtually everywhere in Christchurch including malls, buses, parks and supermarkets.

He said that both he and Dodds wanted the sentence to be prison time as it seemed society and given up on her completely and she had few options left.

Sheâ s recently completed a six-month stint in jail after she was charged with assaulting a child and disorderly behaviour likely to cause violence.
