A 58-year old British national allegedly involved in a roofing scam has been denied bail.
James Quinn was one of two men arrested at Christchurch Airport earlier this week.
He’s facing charges of obtaining by deception and using a forged document.
Quinn’s lawyer Richard Peters argued Quinn was likely a fall guy.
He says the man is much older than his co-offenders and is illiterate.
Peters says the Salvation Army had offered Quinn secure accommodation if he was bailed.
The judge refused the application on the grounds Quinn was still a flight risk.
