
Updated 2.54pm: A scene investigation is still underway at the property of murdered Whangarei man Michael Griffin.
The 56 year old died of blunt force trauma at the weekend after he was attacked at his avenues property.
Police believe two orange bikes were stolen from the property and are asking anyone with information to please comes forward.
Detective Kevin Burke says due to the complexity of the scene the investigation won't be completed until the end of the week.
A 16 year who's been charged with the murder, will appear at the Whangarei High Court later this month.
Mr Griffin died at the weekend of blunt force trauma to the head, after being attacked at his Avenues address.
Police says a scene investigation should be completed by the end of the week.
The accused will be remanded in CYF custody until October 23.
