Complaints have been laid with the Human Rights Commission and New Zealand's Foreign Minister, over what's said to be racist and hate speech filmed at a Pakuranga mosque.

In a video posted online by the Islamic Ahlulbayt Foundation of New Zealand, an Iranian diplomat spoke of terrorism and extremism in the Middle East being fuelled by enemies of Islam and Zionist circles.

Other comments denying the Holocaust and calling for the destruction of Israel were also made by an Iranian cleric and a New Zealand Muslim leader.

Director of the Israel Institute of New Zealand Professor Paul Moon said it's hugely concerning.

"This is the sort of language that was used in Germany in 1930. This is Jewish dynasty conspiracy language. It's very dangerous, it's racist and it's wrong. That's the concern a lot of people have with it," he explained.

Earlier this year the Jewish Council President Stephen Goodman said that anti-Semitism was on the rise in New Zealand, blaming ignorance and a lack of education.
