A major investigation has been carried out into concerns about violence at another Serco-run prison.
The Department of Corrections has looked into allegations made by prisoners and a visitor at Auckland South Corrections Facility last year.
The allegations appear to include organised fights, staff using excessive force, and a huge delay with the handling of internal complaints.
According to a department report, it found no evidence of organised fighting, and found any violence between prisoners was generally well-managed.
However, it found prisoners were becoming anxious and frustrated with an ineffective complaints process and long delays for accessing property.
Serco's contract for Auckland's Mt Eden Prison was scrapped after evidence organised fight clubs were held there.
