Selwyn residents have a chance to have their say on the district plan for the next ten years.
The council's released for consultation today it's long-term plan which sets out the key projects and activities.
Mayor Sam Broughton says he's looking forward to implementing things the community has been waiting for some time.
He says they've been really strong on water and sewage and underground infrastructure so they want to make sure they have the community infrastructure to support the 60 thousand that live there now and the 80 thousand in ten years time.
Selwyn District Council is also asking residents for feedback on water chlorination in its long-term plan.
Mayor Sam Broughton says its water chlorination is partly in response to the Havelock North report.
He says they are bringing some UV treatment work forward and making sure the supplies that are at higher risk also have chlorination.
Mr Broughton says Selwyn is the third-largest district in the South Island - after Christchurch and Dunedin.
