Police are asking for the public's help to find a missing Christchurch woman and are asking people to check their sheds and carports.

Police said Alison Rickaby (58) has been missing since yesterday and was last seen about noon in Worcester St.

Alison used a walking stick and was thought to be wearing a top similar the one pictured, but in blue and white.

She required medication and could be feeling unwell.

Police asked people to check their sheds, carports or anywhere else on their property where she may have taken shelter.

Anyone who had seen Alison was asked to call 111.
