Today marks the half-way point in repairing Housing New Zealand homes in Christchurch.
The 2500th home repair has now been complete - ahead of schedule too.
Social Housing Minister Paula Bennett says they've undertaken a large scale repair and build programme that will see five thousand homes repaired by the end of next year, and 700 new homes built.
She says 55 million dollars has been spent so far on repairs and improvements.
More than 95 percent of social housing in Canterbury was damaged in the earthquakes.
