Police are investigating how a man sustained injuries during a serious assault in Christchurch last night.
Officers responded to an incident on Aorangi Road in Bryndwr around 9 o'clock after reports a man was hit and potentially dragged by a car near St. Aidans Church.
The man is in hospital in a serious condition.
Police are also making enquiries into a complaint of a vehicle being stolen.
