WorkSafe has had meetings with the Canterbury District Health Board today after two attacks on nurses in two weeks.
A nurse at Christchurch's Hillmorton Hospital was stabbed in the leg on Sunday, and last week a nurse suffered second degree burns when boiling water was thrown at her.
WorkSafe claims the DHB had refused a meeting request earlier in the year on the same matter.
Head of General Inspectorate Jo Pugh says this morning's meeting was constructive.
"We will be be doing assessments to make sure the DHB meets its obligations and is identifying and managing risks to make the hospital more safe."
