Efforts to battle an Ohoka house fire have been hampered by a firetruck malfunction.
Fire services have just arrived on the scene, where the ceiling of a residential property is already well-involved in the blaze.
A spokesman says the first pump truck from Rangiora was faulty.
Two more tankers and two other engines are now in attendance.
