Christchurch man banned from Qantas for swearing

A Christchurch man says he is shocked he has been banned from flying with Qantas after swearing on a trans-tasman flight.

Trevor Jury was flying from Brisbane to Christchurch on Sunday when he got up to use the bathroom.

Speaking to Chris Lynch on his radio show, Jury claimed an air hostess took offence to his language when he asked to use the toilet.

"I was waiting in  line for the toilet, and I said I was busting to do a piss. Then a flight attendant came from around the corner and said, "Don't talk like that on my plane."

Trevor Jury says his holiday, which he had been looking forward to for a long time, was ruined by the event.

"We paid good money to fly with them to only get humiliated by being greeted by police at the end of the flight. I am not some terrorist, I am far from that."

Jury says he received no more service for the remainder of the flight and was greeted by police and customs officers on landing.

A spokesperson for Qantas confirmed the incident - but says it went way beyond Jury's description.
The spokesperson says Jury was verbally aggressive and crude towards a crew member who felt threatened.
Qantas says it has a zero tolerance for aggressive behaviour, and the ban was made in consultation with police.
