A boil notice has been lifted in East Christchurch.
Residents in New Brighton and parts of Shirley, Bexley, Wainoni, Burwood, Avondale and Aranui had been advised to boil their water because of E.coli found in samples taken from the Keyes Pump Station on Friday.
The council say they are continuing to monitor the water supply over the festive period.
Yesterday, a similar notice was also lifted in the Arthur's Pass.
Residents were urged to boil water last Wednesday after a power cut caused treatment facilities to shut down.
A Selwyn District Council test has confirmed the water is now safe for consumption.
