A Christchurch Primary school is urging parents talk to their children about stranger danger - following an alleged abduction attempt.

Queenspark School Principal Ross Willocks has just posted a statement saying children were approached on Broadhaven Avenue by a man in a white van.

He's thought to be between 30 and 40.

The van has a black stripe along both sides

Police have been contacted and a trauma team from the Ministry of Education is on its way.
