SPCA Canterbury's accommodation is filling up fast, and they're urging anyone looking to adopt to come in for a visit.
The influx of admissions is due to puppy and kitten season being in full swing.
SPCA Canterbury Chief Inspector David Barbour says luckily the younger animals tend to leave as quickly as they come in.
Mr Barbour says the older dogs and mature cats which take the longest to re-home.
