Western Australians are the target of a new tourism campaign, aimed at showcasing the best of what Canterbury has on offer.
Air New Zealand will provide a direct link between Perth and Christchurch twice weekly, starting mid-December.
It's part of a marketing venture between multiple stakeholders including Interislander, Flight Centre, and Tourism New Zealand.
Christchurch and Canterbury Tourism general manager Rowan Townsend says the direct service will make it easier for people to explore the South Island's landscapes and hidden gems.
The direct flights will run until April next year.
