Tauranga's Mills Reef Winery has moved to quash the idea it's about to close its doors.

But the winery has confirmed it's looking for a new site to move to.

Director Tim Preston says the current site is becoming unworkable as Tauranga's urban area expands, and a new site will be needed within the next ten years.
