State Insurance has confirmed it's going to close 21 of its 22 branches around the country.
But it says it's found 70 job opportunities for the 91 staff impacted by the closures.
The decision to close the bulk of the network is a result of fewer customers visiting branches, and instead calling or getting information via the internet.
Executive general manager Craig Olsen says State's Riccarton branch in Christchurch will remain open to deal with earthquake related insurance claims.
